Pewter frill neck lizard brooch, 4.5 cm. Photographed in bronze oxide. Current production is minimal and this may be the only one we can source.

Animal Notes

The raised frill is used as a threat display or during courtship. The frilled neck lizard is one of the worlds most dramatic looking dragons and the lizard emblem of Australia. They run on their hind legs when threatened. Emus are well recognised Australian icon. Very sensibly the female lays the eggs and then wanders off and leaves the male to raise the chicks. Frequently the males co-operate and one male will look after a "creche" of cute striped chicks for the day.
